Chef Steven Wu was born in Mallorca in 1985. He has built a distinguished career as an expert in Japanese cuisine. Nonetheless, his roots are linked to Chinese gastronomy, as he was raised in Restaurante Imperial (Imperial Restaurant), a family business that has been running for more than three decades with his father leading the kitchen. After completing his studies in computer engineering, Steven decided to dedicate himself entirely to gastronomy.
His training includes the prestigious Tokyo Sushi Academy (TSA) as well as experience in various sushi bars. A milestone in his career was his Japanese government scholarship to work at the renowned 275-year-old Michelin-starred Uosaburo restaurant in Kyoto. There, he refined his culinary skills and delved deeper into Japanese gastronomic tradition.
He was eventually recognized as the best "Itamae" in Spain by Balfego, one of the world's leading suppliers of bluefin tuna. Thanks to his talent and dedication he is considered as a role model in his field.
