Born in Alicante, but artistically formed between Granada and Barcelona, Kenny Ruiz is an author with 20 years of professional career. From fanzines and European albums to manga magazines with professional comic and manga editorials such as Tezuka Productions, Dupuis, Delcourt, Norma Editorial, Dolmen or Glénat, Ruiz has proven his great versatility within all types of genres, from Sci-fi to eroticism, but always focusing on fantasy.
Due to his age, he belongs to one of the first generations of manga readers, and his style has always characterized by having a strong Japanese manga influence, but in his style, we could also find French BD, videogames and animation storyboards. He won the “Premio del Público” at the Salón del Manga de Barcelona of 2011 for his work “Dos espadas”.
His most recent Works are “Telémaco”, a reinterpretation of “The odyssey” for children and published originally in France by Dupuis; and “Boku no Songoku”, a reinterpretation of “The legend of Son Goku”, the famous Osamu Tezuka’s manga, which has been published in Japan by TezuComi.
