Born in 1963 in Iwate Prefecture, Japan. He made his debut as a manga artist in 1986 with “Shinseiki Vagrantz” and began serializing “Silent Mobius” in 1988.
His unique style established him as the creator of a new genre, and he has continued to evolve through all these years in various ways. His work is not limited to Japan; as he has also been highly acclaimed as an artist for Marvel Comics and DC Comics in the U.S., working on such works as “Uncanny X-Men” and “BATMAN: Child of Dreams”.
He is also active in many other fields, including live-action films, special effects, original animation drawings, storyboards, character design, lyrics, and producing among others.
